MAKEUP JOURNAL/CREATING A LOOK WITH NEW MAKEUP

Don’t usually have time to write about makeup, but photographed the makeup I used at the weekend in my Lancome vanity bag.

Finally created a look from all new makeup.

Had to do a body book photo as oppose to a facebook photo as my photos are too blurred due to taking them on a comedy app phone.

This is one of the dresses I altered myself for the November online party.

The nerd tried a different technique with this so hopefully not too comedy.

The close up ones are a bit in your face anyway and too much. I don’t think people do in yer face facebook looks anymore anyway as they are unflattering.

This is it not too close but looks more like a watercolour than a photo as it is so painterly.

My hair is white on top from dry shampoo as one of my products made my hair greasy and lank ~ need to work that out next.

Also trying to get a coloured dry shampoo again so you don’t get the goth look.

Hopefully I’ve got the look across for you, if you are wanting this sort of look but struggling.

If you don’t want this look and are therefore still struggling I got my makeup back by purchasing gift products and getting free gifts from boots.

Eventually it accumulated to products I’m happy with.

If this isn’t your colouring, the products are good so you may want them in colours that suit you ~ worth a browse.

I like thick mascara, light lipstick and BRONZERS.

I like white under my eyes to disguise my dark circles.

Then really pale foundation.

(This is still a problem as it used to go from light to dark now it is muddled up and impossible to work out thrown loads away that are wrong. I used to get loreal fairest and touche eclat but can’t work that out anymore? Still trying to work foundation out, This is Rimmel.)

Now I do makeup Saturday hope to keep on top of new products and not get left behind with it.

I used to shop at Boots once a week so Makeup Saturday is helping me get back up to speed.

Hope this is of use to you if you ended up like me for whatever reason.

I’ve been struggling with this for a while, but this weekend created a look from all new makeup.

From gleening tips from social media I’ve opted for the new bronze look.

It is all about application and being subtle.

Before you could pile on bronzer and the more the merrier.

Now you have to focus more and think it through.

Before you got single eyeshadow or quads, now you get extra large palletes with a lot of different colours that can be confusing for women like me.

I started with the Halloween look that was blue eyeshadow and have slowly built up a collection of new makeup.

Here it is numbered with the product list underneath in my Lancome Vanity Case.

Really need to do this project as I received some free beauty gifts that are brilliant but not sure what the products are. Intend to repeat purchase but need to find out what makes they are first.

Used glitter before but this one is easy to apply and stays were you put it.

Have to say I opted for the teal one first, then the point snapped off and I couldn’t sharpen it ~ wonder if it winds up?

Then I got panicky and opted for the bronze one.

Love it.

Goes on really easily and is really glimmery.

How to use

This works.

I used to use Two Faced but struggle to get that at the moment.

This is great and goes with the bronze look.

No 6. Revolution Reloaded Palette Marvellous Mattes

I used the skin coloured ones and felt like I got somewhere finally. Just the quad in the bottom left hand corner.

It created a fake tan effect with the bronze eye crayon.

Then the brown colours in the crease.

Think I got the wrong shade in this and it seems like a different consistency.

This used to be my go to concealer for under eyes although it says it is a highlighter.

Think it just used to come in translusent?

I need one of the ones that go white to hide my dark circles, there are two many shades no but they all look too beige, yellow or orange for me.

Do feel a bit moany about undereye concealer/highlighter still.

Have to laugh as it says Iconic product, but the shade that made it iconic isn’t there anymore?

There isn’t a label on my Touche Eclat so not sure which one it is.

I think it came on to the market at first for women with dark circles under their eyes who tend to have pale skin.

Women with beige skin might not have the same problem with dark circles so was why it probably was only in translucent.

Not sure what it is now but it doesn’t work anymore.

Not sure how or why so many makeup products that worked don’t work anymore?

I used to get ivory sometimes ~ just noticed that looks orange.

Be good if they put back the original iconic shade or point out which one it is at least if it is still there for internet custumers.

I’m not very good or accurate with liquid liner ~ this almost does it for you so easy to use.

I like thin lines, always ended up with thick lines before trying to neaten up wonky ones.

Think I used this wrong as it it went on like dripping water.

Luckily hide the blemish goes on over anything.

Heard good reports about this setting spray and decided to purchase – what a mistake. It does not have a fine mist spray- it felt like someone sprayed my face using a garden hose! And iit smells like an overpowering hair-spray, plus the smell lingered which wasn’t nice. Don’t bother wasting your money – I’m taking it back for a refund.

That is what happened to me.

Then I thought hang on I don’t need it to set for that long anyway.

If you use setting powder you probably don’t need setting spray as well.

Think I held it too close maybe.

Will try it without makeup at 10cm.

Wonder if these work like mineral sprays in summer without washing your makeup off ~ cooling.

Will use it for that if it still doesn’t work ~ a hose on your face in summer is nice.

Conclusion

I’ve almost changed my whole makeup routine. Wouldn’t mind some fake eyelashes that work and some eyemakeup remover that removes revolution mascara.
