I’m not a film critic or writer, but have to say I have had a lovely weekend watching ~Joan Craeford films.
Had the idea years ago to not write about the films, but just load them up.
At the beginning of my social media journey I would find really good blogs that had loaded cool films up, but then the films got taken down.
With some of the news coming out of late, you can sort of piece together what has been happening to the human race.
In Berserk the film, Joan Crawford says when people are frightened throw them a party.
I can’t agree more.
This is what I did through covid as I had read it in a society book written by someone upper class, this is what people did to get through WW2; they rolled up the carpet and had a party.
Looking back to the beginning of covid I know I did the right thing now.
Joan Crawford Weekend
Have to say this weekend is what I set out to find.
Have had such a good weekend and realise you can’t pretend history never happened?
Really hope you have enjoyed this weekend too.
These films are public demain and to keep them alive blogger needs to come back without people deleting videos.
Social media means a place to be social, not a place to be silenced for saying you like a film and know how to upload and share it.
If you are good at writing you should be able to make money out of it, to keep these films alive and bring enjoyment to fellow nerds or people who enjoy nerdy blogs; like I do.
Straight Jacket
This film is just so good, I can’t stop talking about it, like films up until pre covid where there were only two other couples at the cinema due to someone spreading the fact there were people leaving syringes on cinema seats.
We used to get them to shine a light on the seat first.
Then they just kept remaking great films badly.
Probably be talking about straight jacket till next week.
A Womans face
Searched for this film for years thinking it was a Betty Davis film. Obviously that is why I couldn’t find it.
The nerd remembered we watched these films on BBC2 in the afternoon as toddlers. I loved them, my friends at university did as well.
This was my idea of acting.
Then loads of people started saying otherwise.
Saying that all women want to be a tall blonde woman who in a ballgown is a lie in mho.
When I used to teach I did mask workshops based on Comme del rate.
In a private school I guessed they would make the beautiful mask, but all the tall blonde girls made clown masks.
Joan Crawford brings joy to women.
Women like being fun and possibly are more inspired by being bad, than a boring beautiful woman at a ball.
Hopefully all my hard work will pay off and the algarythms of fashion will change to get fashion that women really want back in the shops.
Not sure how it works, but I have changed some algorithms already.
