May/hydration drench/preparation for summer hydration

This month I thought I would share my hydration discoveries and tips.

This is a Slimming Calendar entry.

AIM FOR 6 – 8 GLASSES OF WATER A DAY. REMEMBER HERBAL TEA IS WATER. ALWAYS REPLACE FLUID LOSS AFTER EXERCISE. SWEAT ISN’T WEIGHTLOSS AND THAT WATER NEEDS REPLACING. CHECK OUT NHS ON WATER. JUST LEARNT A FEW THINGS, WILL HOPEFULLY BE CHANGING THIS CALENDAR NEXT YEAR AS I LEARN, HOPEFULLY BE FIT AGAIN!!!

Hydration Drench

Somehow I started to realise I wasn’t drinking enough water and therefore I was getting hangovers, dry skin. dry scalp and blemishes contradictory to dry skin condition.

The hangovers have gone now I make myself hydrate.

If I’m drinking alcohol I always drink about a pint of water before drinking and about a pint of water after, (the more the better, just make yourself drink it down.) Also if you are working out on Saturday and Monday this idea helps you get up fresh faced and ready for action. It also really encourages drinking in moderation.

I drink in moderation, but I found I still got hangovers from the alcohol dehydrating me, especially after exercising.

I wanted to drink more water but was struggling to do it.

I used to drink 4 small bottles of still mineral water which I think is the equivelent to one large bottle.

Which Mineral water do you choose?

Still Mineral Water

So far I’ve discovered still mineral water for exercise, hydration, taking with supplements; found I can swallow fairly large supplements with still water, that I can’t swallow with sparkling mineral water.

Sparkling Mineral Water

This I have with dinner as a more social drink.

I can’t drink this down as fast, but it is still hydrating so adds to your daily water.

White Wine Spritzer

As well as being lower calorie and making your wine last longer it hydrates you in summer and adds to preventing hangovers.

You can use any white wine and any sparkling mineral water.

Low calorie Mixers

I purchase pre made gin and tonics, but also the small can low calorie tonic mixers, I add these to the pre made gin and tonics; they spin the drink out further and hydrate more, especially good if you fancy a drink in summer.

I’m not a heavy drinker, but I like a few drinks at the weekend to help me unwind and for social occasions and so forth.

Hydrating Faces during and after exercise

This is possibly the obvious answer to my dry skin and blemish problem.

The water rehydrates our skin, but face cream hydrates even more.

For Summer I rediscovered sprayable mineral water very refreshing after boost days.

I’m trying this one out as I have sensitive skin, but you used to be able to get this everywhere, so you may want to try one that suits your skin type or from your favourite brand.

I’m not sure if everybody has this problem after exercising, but this product is a lovely treat for your body to help rehydrate it after exercising, especially in the drying summer months.

It has a lovely sweet fragrance that reminds me of childhood sweets.

I don’t usually like sweet fragrance, but I love this one.

I use this for daytime, then fenjal at night.

Or a combintion.

I’ve got sensitive skin so I guess it is allright for anyone who wants to get some moisture and hydration into their skin.

The hyachloric acid works really well also if you are looking for results from that ingredient.

Had a few bottles of this now.

Decided to try more of their hydration range now I know what my problem is.

As there is quite a lot will put a link for you to browse.

Will put my choices in spa shopping, then review once I’ve tried them.

Clarins

I’ve just recently discovered Clarins and I think they are brilliant.

It can be overwhelming trying to choose new products when there are so many.

This works on my skin really well.

I’ve got sensitive skin that goes dry and blemishy after exercising.

If you have a similar problem you should be fine with this.

This is my favourite Clarins product so far ~ got more to try in my basket.

I’ve used this for a while now, so I’m not just saying it or promoting it.

I got a few free samples to try, I think it was when I was looking for a new cleanser due to the Vichy one changing.

This serum is the one I keep going back to.

I have also purchased a full size bottle and will have this as a new, ‘go to’ product.

In mho it takes time to test products, also I’m quite slow, so suppose you have to do it in your own style.

It suits all skin types so suitable for everyone.

Conclusion

Remember to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate after exercise, especially in the summer months.

Water isn’t always our favourite choice of drink; so I find I have to make myself gulp it down.

When you start to feel the benefits it encourages you to jump on the hydration bandwagon.

Water is brilliant for your complexion and hydrating you after exercise.

Do water products help to hydrate us even more after exercise?

It is early days yet, but hopefully this time I have found the answer to the dry skin blemish problem.

I have got some of it under control, but will give it a bit more time yet so I know they are ‘go to’ products for sure.

Hope this inspires you to hydrate.

If it doesn’t try reading the NHS guide to hydration, that should help you.

It has inspired me to hydrate even more now.

Like the food with water in idea also as we have started taking melon with our sherry on a Sunday.

Enjoy your hydration journey if you are trying to drink more water too.
