Saturday makeup day/vintage tutorial part 3/eyebrows/free gifts

Eyebrows frame the eye and focus interest on them.

They are also important in the shaping of the nose.

Pointed eyebrows can make a nose seem longer.

To remove straggly brows, lubricate them with Vaseline or baby oil and pluck them with tweezers.

Never pluck eyebrows further than the line even with the line of the inside corner of your eye.

Other plucking done should be under the brow and never above it.

The colour of your eyebrow pencil should be close as possible to your natural colour.

Only the darkest brunettes should use a black pencil.

The highest point of the arch should be a straight line on the outer edge of the iris.

The tapered end of the brow should form a straight line past the outer corner of the eye to the side of the nostril.

Blend pencil strokes into your brow with a clean mascara brush.

All you need for this is:

Tweezers

Product details

These tweezers come with 4 different tips that perform different functions:

  • Slanted tip: For precision tweezing.
  • Straight tip: For thick hairs.
  • Pointed tip: For ingrown and short hairs.
  • Combination tip: For multi-tasking with a slant and point in one.

Vaseline or baby oil

(I opted for Vaseline as it doubles up for a beauty tip from Barbie, I can’t seem to get lip scrub anymore, but Vaseline works as well for smoothing loose skin on lips)

Conclusion

A fairly simple beauty routine for eyebrows.

This is the way beauty schools teach it.

This is about enhancing your natural eyebrow rather than following makeup trends. Hope this helps if you feel a bit lost in the makeup trend. I’d forgotten how to do this because of eyebrow product promotions, so will just use this technique now.

Going to draw them on like the video, then set it with the setting spray from collection.

I found I could build my eyebrow a bit thicker and draw some in without looking ludicrous.

Just noticed you get a free gift if you spend £20 on selected products.

Good time to purchase this eyebrow pencil.

Hope you enjoyed this makeup Saturday and it reminds you how to do your eyebrows.

Find the Free gifts actually really useful, especially the makeup bags.

Have to say I noticed this product after last week

Rimmel Highlighter/Contour/Blush Sculpting Palette

Have to point out this product that works with last week’s makeup Saturday. (how to find a product 3 shades darker than your foundation). This makes it easy as it is done for you.

Rimmel Highlighter/Contour/Blush Sculpting Palette

  • Highlight, blusher & contour
  • Works with every face shape and skin tone
  • Adds definition and structure

The Kate Moss Sculpting Palette is a clever combo of three powder shades – a highlighter, contour and blush – that seamlessly blend with your natural skin tone to create a contoured look. The kit works with every face shape and skin tone, adding definition and structure. Use a little colour for a natural, fresh look. Or be bold for an impactful, dramatic sculpted effect.

How to use

The kit makes sculpting and contouring as easy as 1, 2, 3…

  • 1. The soft shimmer highlighter is used to highlight areas that naturally catch the light – cheek bones, brow bones, the center of the chin, forehead and bridge of the nose.
  • 2. The darker shading powder is used to contour and recede areas of the face that you don’t want to emphasis, such as the sides of the nose, jaw line and hairline.
  • 3. The shimmer powder blush gives definition and colour to the cheeks and added warmth to the whole face.

Feel like I’ve got a chance with my eyebrows again now, hope it helps you too if you had lost your way with eyebrows; I have got really fine eyebrows due to being ill and was feeling self conscious with people going on about sparse eyebrows being a problem, but with this video I managed to draw them back in fairly easily. This video is a relaxing soft sell and has calmed me down instead of feeling aggressive and rebellious towards hard sell.

Apparently, only teenagers bought into bushy eyebrows, maybe we were all supposed to do it, I didn’t understand what they were saying or how to do it for all the insulting comments about my eyebrows. Also I stopped using makeup in covid and have felt minoritised since Covid if I’m honest.

If you are fed up with the same experiences I highly recommend trying this video.

Just use a kohl pencil to try it out and have to say you will get back on track with your makeup and mainly your eyebrows as this makes sense.

Rimmel is a good brand to start with as it is fairly priced and still stocks a lot of vintage product.

I used to like Coral in Gold, Pink Shimmer, Talked About lipsticks, then they did season of the witch nailvarnishes in white, pink and beige. Also their pink blusher.

Part 4 will be next Saturday.

Enjoy your weekend
