Started off on The Avon official shop, but then discovered Avon on eBay – got really hooked and spent the whole evening on eBay after watching the Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense.

I really enjoyed this shop but have to be truthful and say I miss looking at the catalogues, filling in the order form, handing in my order then getting the bag of Avon. It was great you were buying it from a friend as well. Can’t explain the phenomena but a lot of women miss that apparently.
I chose the Little black dress as it is my favorite perfume and favourite fashion item that you can’t get any more in 2024 unless you are pear-shaped. Pear-shaped suit Oasis dresses better though. Not being funny I used to love Oasis dresses but they didn’t suit me. Why muddle up all the fashion so no one looks good?

This did what it said on the tin as I ended up spending the rest of the evening after watching Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense shopping.
Felt a bit overwhelmed at first, then remembered Avon novelty bottles from the 70’s.
Used to see them in charity shops, but didn’t have storage for them in those days. Have a perfume cabinet on order, but also remembered I’m having a custom-built cabinet designed also. This will be perfect for The Avon purchase last night.
I’m becoming aware of how large my perfume collection is becoming.
I guess you have to plan allocated storage, then if you go over you could become a vendor on eBay.
Will keep this in mind, quite a good tip.

I made a start at this and had a wonderful time.
Some of the boxes were tatty and some didn’t have perfume, so I guess you would want factory-sealed ones for collecting maybe?
I saw a nativity set for £400 that caught my attention but decided to buy a lot of stuff instead.
I haven’t got a clue what I’m doing so I just bought what I liked rather than bought for antique value.
(by the way Lovejoy ~ a series about an antiques dealer airs tonight on weekend TV – will be watching that tonight with my dinner and wine).
I guess Lovejoy wouldn’t be into Avon lol!!
Joking aside there may be antique dealers in perfume as some of it does go up in value.
The ones I chose must have been made in mass as there are quite a lot of them. I think I just want the ones I like and then maybe learn more as I go along.
Not sure if I paid the right price either, but as I’m starting out not really bothered at this present time, was worth it just for the serotonin release.

This is ridiculously twee and couldn’t resist it
I love figurines and couldn’t resist this either, the box is tatty, which is why collectors need factory-sealed plastic products so this doesn’t happen. If this collection gets off the ground I should try and get a factory-sealed one. Quite like that, this one shows you the product though.

Love these. It has made me wonder about my modern collection of perfume as some of that isn’t available anymore.
Guess this is a clue when buying antique perfume of the future.

Vintage Avon White Milk Glass Pot with Lid
Chose this as I love milk glass and if there is any perfume left it could be washed out and used as a trinket box.
Before washing antiques you need to find out how to do it professionally. Not sure how you would clean milk glass.
Boxed Vintage Avon “Fleur” Eau de Cologne 15ml
Just bought this as it is so pretty, looking forward to smelling the perfume. If it hasn’t faded with time. I love the bottle anyway and think some designers use old packaging for inspiration.
Would use this as a starting point.
Whatever the flowers are, they would be nice to grow in my garden.

Conclusion
Not sure if I’ll get any of this, but really enjoyed shopping for it.
If I get it all have already planned the storage of it.
Haven’t got a clue what I’m doing with antiques, but they are a bit different.
There are so many Avon products you may have gone for similar products to me or ended up somewhere completely different.
This is what I chose.
If I should have gone for sealed products maybe I’ll learn as I go along.
At the end of the day hope you got some joy from this as well as there isn’t a lot of it around at the moment.
