Weekend foody ideas

I’m not a foody, but I like food and alcohol.

Now I discovered one day a week cheat day in The slimming calendar feel like I’ve come alive again.

Will probably keep eating low-calorie food and counting calories until the end of the month, but it means you can drink alcohol at the weekend and cook with alcohol.

Last week we did an impromptu food shop and had chicken Caesar salad a glass of wine and a few gins.

For some of us, I guess we feel better for just a bit of alcohol and fun. This is a psychological fact.

The trick is keeping it in control.

This Friday we are having pitta bread pizza on Friday with a glass of red wine and a few gins with extra fevertree tonic.

The Chicken Provence on Sunday with Some Wine or Cinzano and a few more gins.

I used to like m and s pink gin, but we haven’t been able to get that due to post-food and alcohol restrictions? That is when I started using cocktail cherries rather than lemon.

Then we finish with decaf coffee like in Abigail’s party.

It works a treat as you don’t want to drink any more alcohol and you control your calorie allowance

Thought I’d share this as it might inspire you too.

As you get fitter you feel like living a bit as well as exercising.

Need to write the pitta bread pizza recipe up ~ the link doesn’t work ~ irritating ~ will add the calories up and put in homemaker recipes

It is just pitta bread, tomato paste, low-fat cheese, olives, onions, and mixed herbs ~ you can get Quorn pepperoni now also that is low fat.

Toppings

You can play around with low-fat toppings such as low-fat ham and pineapple (if you can find some ham that looks nice), tuna and sweetcorn, seafarer (if you can find mixed shellfish) ~ m and s used to do it before veganism covid, the fun is choosing what you like. If you’re not on a diet you can use anything you like.

You can use French bread as a base if you can find any good quality French sticks, the last ones we got weren’t made properly?

Ultimately you can make your own dough, this is the most healthiest version and you get a proper base out of it ~ we haven’t room here so have to rely on the shops.

Sunday Chicken Provence

We are going to get some chicken breasts and cook them in one tray, then make the sauce in another tray.

I sliced the chicken and then poured the sauce over.

This recipe is gorgeous ~ can’t wait to eat it properly again.

We have adapted it a bit for how we live at the moment, but it ends up being low-calorie I suppose.

Really recommend this recipe.

Conclusion

Hopefully will do more stuff like this soon lol!!!

After researching the Victorian Party, realise I can adapt all the cakes to low calorie with canderell. Baking is really easy and I quite like doing it, so would enjoy doing baking.

Hope you like the cheat idea too, glad that turned up.

Healthy snacks

Just a quick reminder, alcohol makes you more hungry so remember to have some healthy snacks like crudite handy or rice cakes and so forth ~ olives are good as they have hardly any calories.

Hope you have a good weekend!!!
