TV fashion/The fall and rise of reginald perrin/The good life/Bin sustainability, balance your barbara and margo sides

This morning I thought about how Barbara had upcycled two pairs of trousers last year on vintage TV, into one pair; one side was orange fabric, the other denim.

Looked terrible.

How has such a bad incompetent design idea ended up on the high street as a non-stop trend?

Remember when Barbara wove Jerry and Margo hideous out-of-shaped knitwear on her weaving loom, then dyed it green with nettles.

They were both really polite about it, but you can tell from their expressions they are as confused as we are about covid 19 fashion, upcycled fashion (which is like Barbara’s hideous trousers), plus-sized or twelve-year-old girls mis-sold as women-size lingerie in boutique shops and artisan pottery and gifts sold for over £500 when you just want a stuffed cuddly toy for £2.99 or a plastic ball for your dog.

It has all gone a bit grot

The fall and rise of reginald perrin

This would be funny if it didn’t reflect the high street and small country village shops in 2024.

The misuse of people with mental health problems in sales and the marketplace, my old school friend is a victim of this as she may have inherited spastic genes which run in her family like the film twisted nerve with Hayley Mills.

The weird unregulated size underwear that doesn’t fit properly

(Weird covid knickers that ordinary people modeled on Instagram. They are too big, but too tight. Hideous, realise now someone i’d know what they were doing and did this on purpose. We discovered women like Margo wouldn’t do something like this as she is British)

Found an old pair of size 12 knickers that fell down when I was doing the Zsa Zsa Gabor exercise routine. Really pleased as it means I have lost weight and am at least a pre-COVID size 10 again.

Discovered this idea on the slimming calendar last year.

Get back into your pre-COVID clothes.

It gives you an accurate goal and guideline to slim down to and keeps you sane.

I can’t give you a comparison to COVID sizes because they are unregulated: there are 3 size 12s as opposed to there just being one size 12 like before. They are mis sold which means you don’t know which of the three you will receive when you order them.

X has exposed who was behind this, hopefully, it means regulated underwear sizing will return soon and we can all get our lives back!!!

(Also I made two pads for small busts out of oversized pads for large round shaped busts. They smelt of rubber though. Made them with a large darning needle and cheap supermarket thread from a travel kit).

The only difference is Artisan hasn’t taken off like Grot did.

At the end of the Good Life series the Queen commissioned a command performance and Arthur Daly the bank manager told Tom he couldn’t have a loan as his self-sufficiency hadn’t shown any financial growth after 3 years and he should go back to work or he wouldn’t have security or a pension in old age.

The Queen meets the cast of the good life. It was an unexpected bonus at the end of the series on vintage TV.

Wondering if the Queen shopped at Fenwicks?

looks like the gorgeous fabric design they used to use in their dresses and swimwear.

We worked out Margo would have shopped at Fenwicks, (her fashion was inspired by the Queen).

That shop must have been brilliant when the clothes fitted before the fat revolt.

I shop there a bit for film fashion. Used to go to the branch near us.

Will need to alter the stuff at the moment, wish they would go back to regulated sizing.

The dress the Queen is wearing is really pretty.

Have to be honest and say I like both Barbara and Margo, will put my ten pennyworth into the current sort out the mess made by COVID-19 argument.

Last year I did zenmass, which was about going back to recycling and binning sustainability.

I had a friend who warned me you have to keep recycling in staunch control or you end up with plastic carrier bags and cardboard containers everywhere,

Feng shui your recycled stash

One thing I have learned since sustainability is to have set storage for recycling, once this becomes cluttered think about what you don’t need and have a clearout. This way it creates a balance and you have a useful tidy stash.

Great finds

Lost a lid off a liquid bottle the other day, luckily I had the same lid on one in my stash.

Old spray bottles

Made a handmade leave-in conditioner yesterday on spa day, needed a spray bottle and luckily had one in my recycled box which is a small IKEA drawer liner.

Active storage

The rest of my storage is my Margo storage.

This is filled with new products and at the moment old pre covid fashion that fits properly.

Active storage is products I use every week or every day.

How to make your storage active

If you don’t use an item it is inactive and blocking your life from flowing efficiently, here are some solutions.

A) Recycle the bottle if it will be of use, is a good design, and so forth.

B) If it is a duplicate of an active product it goes into stock storage. (a recycled toiletry bag).

C) If the product doesn’t work, and has a rubbish bottle or packet it goes into the feng shui bin and makes room for the new world products that will have to emerge soon as experts are demanding to keep the British economy going.

What is in my good life bag?

Typed in recycle and the perfect product appeared – approved by both Margo and Barbara

Hope you enjoyed this blog and like the idea of balancing Margo and Barbara. In my humble opinion, it could be done a lot better so it works. Hopefully, X is giving hints to everything going back to normal again ASAP.
