Watched this film a few times now.
Really enjoyed it.
It is a romantic horror, but the story appeals to men too.
As I’m not a horror fan, it is a good film for couples to watch together when the female party doesn’t like teenage schlock horror type films.
Notable sales points
The most obvious one to me is the holiday they all go on. Without spoiling the plot the couples on holiday end up in an oldy worldy American Inn. As far as I know this is termed as Antiquing in America.
The film is filmed in Canada.
The setting is so quaint and delightful, would really love to discover a similar holiday and write it up in my film blog journal.
New England has been on my to do list since childhood.
SUNDAY SHOPPING
Before I revamped my pinterest, was moaning about how covid ruined quaint little villages in Britain.
Everything became themed with world war 2? fair enough if it was in keeping with a history of a town, but one of our favourite villages was Haworth.
Howarth was the home of the renowned Bronte sisters, which is the obvious selling point of Howarth. Last time we went the cobbled high street had been comandeered by too many vintage world war two people in costume and The Bronte parsonage had been left to rack and ruin. Really disappointing. World war 2 never even got to Howarth? We never went there again as you had to struggle to get into the shops. Also the Edinburgh wool shop closed down, (which used to be really popular).
Just for pedantic people of course WW2 was everywhere as it was a World War, but it didn’t get bombed like London, the children from london were sent to country villages like Haworth to protect them from the war.
Even still ~ The Bronte Sisters is obvious to anyone, the selling point of Haworth.
The Bronte Parsonage
I used to have this as a bookmark at school, I bought it from the parsonage shop
I would guess most people prefer the Brontes, the classics and heather moors, as a selling point for Haworth than WW2, in mho.
People that actually went through WW2 hated it and wanted to forget it ever happened, if you read how they felt it is actually really sad and upsetting.
Just saying.
I think we shouldn’t forget what our ancestors went through for us, but not by ruining days out that aren’t about WW2. If anything they went to places like Haworth to forget about WW2 and have a nice time with their family.
There are days out about WW2 already anyway. I find them disturbing.
Also all people in WW2 England didn’t eat cake, were on rations and weren’t all good time girls and prostitutes like this American girl blogged who knew my cousin. She moved here thinking that was what England was. I think she got lied to somewhere then ended up with a mental illness?
We don’t go to Howarth anymore as it is all about WW2 now and artisan rubbish shops, not worth going all the way to for a day out.

Shame, we used to buy their whiskey and I purchased some trinket boxes for jewellery storage.

Never used to buy any clothes in here, but am desperate so tried a few things.

Conclusion
The same WW2 weirdos turned up at another country village we used to go to and took over the parking spaces with market stalls selling rubbish and out of tune buskers, the girl in the makeup shop I used to go to was moaning about them also and had to adjust her speaker to block out the out of tune singing.
I altered the date of this by mistake, but think I wrote it last Halloween.
None of the EWM shop clothes I ordered have turned up and that has gone a bit weird now also with trend hairstyles?
Is this some sort of joke as I don’t get it?
It is actually an older persons shop and why I was supporting it, I don’t think anyone cares about older people anymore.
We just bought the whiskey and trinkets, but they don’t sell them anymore.
I think family days out in England obviously don’t exist anymore and no one cares less about English people.
This model just looks stupid.
There are still some normal looking models and EWM is in the fashion calendar, I’ve stopped ordering anything from them though as they don’t send anything out.
If I’m honest I never used to purchase their clothes anyway.
I bought jewellery in a shop in Haworth, but guess that will of been shut down also.
Sorry this is so lacking of any hope.
Wonder if you keep searching for people who are being more honest about stuff like this instead of saying they like stuff that turns out to be rubbish when you actually get it.
There are some summer stuff I wouldn’t mind for exercising in from EWM, so may keep trying for them and will just have to ignore daft on trend hairstyles wrongly used in family type day out shop?
No wonder my cousins American friend went mad when she came to England, we are about history not this?
