JANUARY DE CLUTTER/BREAKING OPEN THE SHOE & SUPPLEMENT HOARD

During covid I couldn’t purchase shoes or trainers.

When I finally started recieving them I started to collect them and stock pile them.

I think this must be a natural reaction to covid unstocked shops.

As I’ve got too much stuff in storage and orders set to be delivered in 2026 decided to do this project first.

Empty Storage goal

My shoes and trainers are in boxes so the goal is to get at least one empty box at the end of the day.

(Haven’t used any of these.

As I don’t go out anymore don’t need the wellie boots.

Might be better throwing them and making room in my storage,

If they are for wide ankles useless for me anyway ~ all the mud would get down the side and defeat the point. Also you would slide around in them.

The green trainers look a bit flat and I have high arches,

The Black ones may be of use.

Got all of these packed somewhere they were for going outside in.

I only wear shoes for photos with really high heels or trainers to work out in or sliders for spa day.

Threw these already as they were too flat for me to walk in, really uncomfortable. I like this style if it has high chunky heels.

At the moment it is muddled into storage with other products.

Will take a lot of effort to sort it all out.

The tan wedges might be a bit flat even though they are a wedge they have no heel.

Like the colours of these, think my favourites are the raffia ones.

Got a feeling the small heels won’t suit me, prefer the chunky heel too on the raffia ones.)

Decluttering Your Supplements

What I need to do is work out which ones I can’t digest and re stocking my supplement storage box with ones I can digest and are essential for joints and muscles when you exercise.

supplements

This year I’m looking for digestable alternatives to hard to digest supplements.

Then I will load my discoveries in Supplement Digest.

I give stuff I don’t use away or just throw them to make space in storage.

If you have the same problems as me with digesting supplements hopefully we will get somewhere with this by the end of the year.

I find my body can’t take anymore supplements then it creates a block but my old aches come back so I have to start again.

I’m taking a collagen drink that is easy to digest.

To add to this I need my jointace tablets and magnesium.

Margo’s good life shop is back on Sunday so need to get back up to speed with my supplements so I can do a focussed shop on Sunday.

Essentials Haul

The last time I did a declutter a full box to an empty box project, I refilled it with Basic facial essentials like cotton wool, face wipes, cleanser and so forth.

When I look at the clear box I can automatically see how much essential product I have instead of a muddle of items in a mess.

As I have started receiving more lifestyle products I can now start decluttering products over 5 years old that I don’t or have never used.

I was hoarding these during covid just in case products never came back.

If you relate to this hoarding syndrome maybe this blog will offer up inspiration of how to let go.

I’m either terrible at it or go too far the other way and get declutter happy resulting in regret, but maybe not as when I repurchased the decluttered product I remembered why I had Feng Shuid it.

This habit started during covid as the post stopped.

If I’ve overstocked this year suppose it doesn’t matter as it will come in.

ESSENTIAL PRODUCT RE-STOCK & 5 YEAR OR OVER DECLUTTER

Didn’t load this into Instagram as they are all repeat purchases.

Handy Tip

Since I started learning how to survive in a covid world one tip I’m finding useful is to picture in your mind the products you actually need; the ones you have to sometimes search for when you run out.

Instead of them being at the bottom of a stuffed full bag or at the back of a cupboard, prioritise your storage space with these products in the main storage position.

Conclusion

Think I quite like having a good stock of essential product in storage.

It means you can restock essential items without panicking or running out.

This is one of the good skills I’ve learnt during covid.

Glad I’m slowly turning my awful Covid experience into a positive one.

There is no point having rubbish over 5 years old that you are never going to use blocking up your storage.

If your storage is full of usefull items that make your life run smoothly it is joyous.

I realise lifestyle blogging and living isn’t for everyone so I’m fine with it if this idea annoys you; I like to get out and about and live my life too. Organisation and shopping is a bit indoorsy.

If you love this sort of lifestyle living ideas hope this inspires you.

Will be doing these all the time now.

We couldn’t even collect magazines as children and teenagers and my mum threw loads of my art out to make space including my hand painted colour wheel.

I was brought up to be a lifestyle blogger so will enjoy the declutters and shopping.

Hope this offers ideas for you.

(Will get back to you on this one as the shoes are possibly in lots of different places. Will write up the supplement one after I receive my Good Life Sunday Shop.)
