A musical retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic novel about an old bitter miser taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of several mysterious Christmas apparitions. In 1860, cranky old miser Ebenezer Scrooge hates Christmas, loathes people, and defends the decrease of the surplus of poor population, runs his bank exploiting his employee Bob Cratchit and clients, giving a bitter treatment to his own nephew and acquaintances. However, on Christmas Eve, he is visited by the doomed ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley, who tells him that three spirits would visit him that night. The first one, the spirit of Christmas Past, recalls his miserable youth when he lost his only love due to his greed, the spirit of Christmas Present shows him the poor situation of Bob’s family, and how joyful life may be and the spirit of Christmas Yet To Come shows his fate. Scrooge finds that life is good, and time is too short, and suddenly you are not there anymore, changing his behavior toward Christmas, Bob, his nephew, and people in general.

Delightful spoof on witchcraft, based on John Van Druten’s 1950 Broadway play. Kim Novak falls in love with publisher (James Stewart) as her Warlock brother (Jack Lemmon) complicates matters by co-authoring a book on magic with drunken Ernie Kovacs.

It was recorded for the German TV show Rockpalast. This is a very rare live performance from the ‘classic’ line up of Steeleye Span and shows the band in their prime in great quality. It was filmed a few months after the ‘Commoners Crown’ album was recorded so features tracks from that album including the epic Long Lankin plus Little Sir Hugh and Demon Lover. The band went into the studio with Mike Batt to start recording ‘All Around My Hat’ the month after this performance. Note that there was no crowd, this was a Made For TV Session and as it was not broadcast in full, this version has not had the applause (etc) edits added in.

The third annual reunion of English folk rock band, Fairport Convention at Cropredy in Oxfordshire. The first two tracks are from Friday night’s performance of the Babbacombe Lee album, with the remaining 22 performances featuring Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg, Dave Swarbrick, Bruce Rowland, Trevor Lucas, Jerry Donahue, Richard Thompson, Dave Mattacks and Linda Thompson. Trevor Lucas’ appearance gave the band the opportunity to reform the Fairport Nine lineup, as well as solo efforts from Trevor and Jerry Donahue, and Fotheringay’s “The Ballad Of Ned Kelly”. 01. An Irish Christmas aired after the classic 1986 WPIX Yule Log. This is the complete program including John McGillicuddy’s famous card reading monologue. Watching this has been a tradition for our family for years. I’ve one seen a song or two from this online before. It comes from a beta tape that my recorded off the tv in 1986. So we wore it down a bit. If anyone has a better quality version (doubtful) let me know. I would love to see it.
Conclusion
Have a lovely Christmas Eve.
Hope Santa brings you what you asked for for christmas!!!
Good Night & God Bless!!!
