New This Year

Shirley MacLaine stars in this chiller as her brother Perry King is acting strangely. Is he possessed by evil spirits? A real New York City in the 70’s movie.

Novelist Paul Sheldon doesn’t remember the blizzard that sent his car spinning off the road. He doesn’t remember being nursed back from unconsciousness. But he will never forget Annie Wilkes. James Caan and Kathy Bates star in the bone-shattering thriller “”Misery,”” adapted from the novel by Stephen King. As Paul (Caan) recuperates from his injuries in the secluded cabin of his benefactor Annie (Bates), he begins to discover that beneath the seemingly kind and naïve exterior of his self-described “”number one fan”” lurks a mind that is cunning, unhinged, and bent on keeping her favorite writer as her personal prisoner for the rest of his “”cock-a-doodie”” life…and Sheldon must engage his savior-turned-captor in a battle of wills that will push them both to the brink. Adapted by screenwriter William Goldman and directed by Rob Reiner, “”Misery”” is considered by critics and fans (number ones and others) to be among the greatest horror-thrillers of all-time.

A big-city reporter travels to the small town where her mother has been arrested for the murder of an elderly woman that she works for as a maid. Kathy Bates, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Christopher Plummer star in an atmospheric whodunit that’s part mystery, part human drama and wholly entertaining.

Play for Today 1 May 1975 BBC TV. Starring: Peter Barkworth, Sheila Gish and Judi Bowker. Stockbroker Richard Elkinson, played by Peter Barkworth is made redundant but goes ahead with his planned Christmas party anyway, bringing a different dynamic to the proceedings. A fine study of mid-life, middle class manners and worries, which led to a sequel: The Country Party in 1977. Both written by Brian Clark who in 1979 wrote the mini-series: Telford’s Change, also starring Barkworth.

We are opting for Chinese Takeaway this week as Christmas Day is Wednesday ~ balances out the Roast Dinners.
I think Holiday Season has started now as we are a global world ~ we are going with the flow lol!!!
Planned some food and drink ideas for you based around how Christmas dates are this year.
The drinks cabinet might appeal to you if you hate excessive sales ~ I’m fed up of them too; at the same time you need to purchase some products to have Christmas and a bit of fun.

Sunday Matinee

“Woman’s World” (1954) is an American comedy film directed by Jean Negulesco. The film offers a satirical and lighthearted look at the world of business and gender roles, focusing on the corporate world and a competition to find a new executive for a prestigious company. The story is centered around the women who are involved in the process, each representing different facets of women’s lives in the 1950s.

PLEASE NOTE: A message will appear across the film at 18:03, 39:07 and 1:01:46 to let viewers know that it was uploaded on the “Manfocused” channel. Synopsis: The made-for-TV “Jailbirds” is a distaff comedy variation on “The Defiant Ones.” Phylicia Rashad plays an important LA business executive, while Dyan Cannon portrays a trailer-trash babe from Louisiana. Both Rashad and Cannon are thrown into a dank Southern jail for crimes they didn’t commit. While manacled together, the ladies escape, driving each other cuckoo as they elude their captors.

This week features the Three Degrees, proving Bernard wasn’t rascist.
I was a bit militant towards rascism and have had to reel myself in a bit.
New This Year

Conclusion
Now the Grinch Syndrome is done and dusted hope you are getting in the Christmas spirit.
It is just adjusting your mood and deciding what the hell; make it your holiday and your christmas ~ do your favourite things and then it will be the most wonderfull time of the year.
Loading up nostalgic tv for you.
They are in a playlist; the idea is to just switch it on and it will be like old TV on autopilot.
Not sure if it will work, also some of it is on Amazon and daily motion so you have to switch that on manually, if you just want to lounge in your lounge pants the auto pilot one is ideal.
Need to add up 12 – 24 hours worth a day – Great if you are throwing a big do -you can turn the sound down and just have nostalgic tv in the background ~ fun conversation starter for boozy stoned guests.
Have a great weekend
We have started collecting the christmas booze, less to do in the busy week.
Saphire
n.b.
We tried the makeshift wine cellar from a plastic box and it has freed up space in the wine cabinet. Great when you want an impromptu bottle of wine.
It also doubles up as a nest of tables ~ well one ~ you could throw a tablecover over it and no one would know it was a plastic box.
Then pop it back under the table when your finished with it.
Notes for your Diary
Christmas Eve is next Wednesday
