SAPHIRES’ HAIRDRESSING SALON/JOHN FREIDA/AUTUMNAL SHADES FOR BRUNETTES

Discovered a GOOGLE link to Autumnal hair colour this morning.

Quite inspired as I once had an autumnal colour done at the hairdressers.

It was a really nice colour, but obviously blended by an expert colourist.

Loved that shade and never found or had it again.

It matched tan coats, handbags and boots really well.

I also found a gorgeous shade of Max Factor lipstck that went perfectly with the hair colour.

It would match the Autumn shades of Barry M nailvarnish really well.

This got me to thinking if I could find a similiar home hair colour I might have a chance with the blonde makeup in all of the shops.

I don’t suit red.

I suppose some of the red lipsticks suit some brunettes but not women like me.

I do like Tan and Autumn though.

Hair shades like at the hairdressers.

They used to blend them for you though.

I think you can do this at home, but not sure how you do it.

Wondering if it was a permant hair colour as it was quite light.

The last time I did permanent colour myself it went porous.

What is porous hair?

  • Hair Porosity: refers to the hair’s ability to absorb and retain moisture.
  • High Porosity: is when the hair cuticle is lifted or open, creating gaps or pores that allow moisture to enter easily but also escape quickly.

Causes of Porous Hair

  • Genetics: It is often a genetic trait, particularly common in curly and wavy hair.
  • Damage: Chemical processing (like coloring), excessive heat styling, and UV exposure can lift and damage the cuticle, increasing porosity.

Signs of Porous Hair Frizz and tangles, Rapid drying, Quick absorption of water but quick loss of moisture, and Hair that feels dry and brittle.

All the colour I used then used to just go black.

Then I used Chilli Brown Semi Permanent and it went orange.

Autumnal Dress.

Love this pattern and Autumnal colours.

Not sure but I think I suit these colours even though I’m winter.

Apparently winter needs warmth.

I just look pale as a sheet otherwise lol!!!!

Not sure this dress actually fits me, the zip was broke also but you aren’t allowed to say anymore.

Kept the dress as I can just put a new zip in if things go back to normal.

This was from a semi permanent colour on dark brown hair.

Chilli chocolate brown.

It was supposed to be dark brown with a hint or red but it went bright red?

Would prefer it more Autumn.

My mum is a fiery red head ~ so maybe I do suit Auburn.

Quite exciting changing your hair colour a lot.

Conclusion

Decided to order these products.

Have just been doing my roots of late so probably needs a bit of attention.

Haven’t done my under layers for years lol!!!

Hope this discovery is of use to you too.

Looking forward to trying this.

Doing what I always do ordered a few shades then think it through and usually decide on the day I’m doing it.

This might be just what I need to get the makeup colours to work.

When I was blonde I hardly needed to use makeup.

Then I went back to dark brown and I looked terrible in blonde makeup.

Hope this helps you if you are struggling like me.

Wonder if you go lighter then use semi permanent?

Not sure ~ will see whats happens.
