Have discovered you can block spam on Pinterest and Instagram,
you press the three buttons on top of the ad.
(Back to the day before Twitter made comedy clips spam by overquoting inapproriately)
I’ve started to just get the same product ad down the side of a product I’ve pinned.
But the fitness pins are still weird.
Block someone on Pinterest
Block a Pinterest profile to prevent someone from following you, messaging you or interacting with your Pins.
No one will ever receive a notification that you’ve blocked or unblocked them. They’ll only be alerted if they try to follow you or interact with your Pins.
If you block someone, their Pins will no longer show up in your home feed, but you might still see them in search results and group boards. Pins you’ve already saved from them will stay on your profile. If you want to remove one of these Pins, you can find out how to edit or delete a Pin .
If your interaction with another person rises to the level of bullying or harassment, follow our reporting guidelines . If you’re ever concerned about your safety, contact the police.
This takes me back to when I was stalked and bullied.
I think the weird ads down the side of fitness videos and famous people possibly are harassment.
I’m having to salvage stuff off Pinterest because of the weird attack style adverts. It is exhausting me and last week I was so tired forgot to load up Dick Emery and George and Mildred.
Harassment is unwanted conduct that violates a person’s dignity or creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment. It can take many forms, including physical, verbal, or non-verbal actions, and may be related to protected characteristics like race, gender, or sexual orientation. It can be a one-off incident or a pattern of behavior.
Key aspects of harassment:
- Unwanted Conduct:The behavior must be unwelcome to the person experiencing it.
- Intention or Effect:The conduct can be intended to cause offense or distress, or it can have that effect even if not intended.
- Impact on the Individual:Harassment can negatively impact a person’s well-being, work, or social environment.
- Repetitive or Severe:While often involving repeated actions, serious one-off incidents can also constitute harassment.
- Related to Protected Characteristics:Harassment is often linked to discrimination based on factors like race, gender, religion, etc.
- Examples:Examples include insults, offensive jokes, unwelcome physical contact, sexual advances, and creating a hostile work environment.
Legal Definitions:
- In many jurisdictions, harassment is defined as unwanted conduct that violates a person’s dignity or creates a hostile environment.
- It can be a form of discrimination when related to protected characteristics.
- Some laws require that the harassment be frequent or severe enough to create a hostile environment, while others may consider serious one-off incidents as harassment.
Harassment in the Workplace:
- Harassment in the workplace is often considered illegal when it is frequent or severe, creating a hostile environment or leading to adverse employment decisions.
- It can include sexual harassment, which is any unwanted sexual behavior that creates an offensive or intimidating environment.
Where Harassment Can Occur:
- Harassment can occur in various settings, including the workplace, school, online, and social situations.
Distinction from Bullying:
- While both involve unwanted behavior, harassment can be a specific form of discrimination, while bullying often involves repetitive actions that are distressing or threatening.
Stalking vs. Harassment:
- Stalking and harassment are similar offenses, but stalking involves repeated behavior that makes the victim feel scared, distressed, or threatened.
Reporting Harassment:
- If you are experiencing harassment, you should consider reporting it to the appropriate authorities, such as the police or your workplace.
- There are also organizations that offer support and advice to victims of harassment.

I’ve been to the Police about bullying already.
Highly recommend if your problem is serious.
My problem at the minute isn’t that bad now I’ve discovered the block spam button.
I don’t think it is aimed at me personally, if anything the ads down my photos are nice.
Wonder if you block the weird ones, Pinterest and Instagram will get rid of them?
The weird adverts have made Pinterest a hostile environment for me.
I’m also getting paid adverts from products I don’t want.
This happened when they got rid of land lines.
It has sold WordPress to me because you can go ad free.
I quite like Pinterest though so I would pay to go ad free.
What is the point of loads of ads the same as what I’ve purchased?
But now I struggle to read my notes and click visit site?
Block an account
- Open the profile of the person you’d like to block
- Click the ellipsis icon under their profile details
- If you’re blocking a business account, you’ll find the ellipsis icon located in the top right-hand corner of their profile
- Click Block
- Click Block again to confirm
- Click OK to exit the pop-up window
If you want to unblock the account in the future, you’ll find the option to Unblock under their profile details.
I think I’ll choose this option for now, but if it doesn’t go away I can press harrassment as it is making Pinterest a hostile environment for me.
I go on Pinterest for joy and fun not to be freaked out by weird adverts and attacks.
Conclusion
Hope this helps you if you are fed up of the weird adverts also.
If you are using pinterest to get custom are you aware you are just adding to spam.
You can block people on Instagram also.
If someone is harrassed they are likely to choose the worse choice of reporting a bad pin or instagram out of frustration, then a red sign comes up saying block pin or instagram.
Blocking rubbish internet media adverts is obviously the first option.
Hopefully it is a sales tactic to sell paid Pinterest and Instagram without adverts or attacks.
As we all live in this global nightmare of present maybe it should be run a bit better.
