Before covid you used to be able to purchase new age cleaning products without strong chemicals etc. We struggle to get anything at the moment. Biodegradable wipes are a quick easy way to clean down your wardrobe. I make a soapy soloution by putting shower gel in warm water and washing my hangers in that, then rinsing with clean warm water. You might need some new hangers or need to pack winter clothes away to make space. Using shower gel such as radox or Original source will probably save.

2nd May

If you have taken up dance aerobics again or just starting, you may feel more comfortable in this super range of adult dancewear I have discovered at Dance Direct called Dansez. Really like this brand ~ you can browse the whole website, be aware of the sizes as some are for children with it being a dancers shop. Leotards are great for holding in problem areas and you can wear them with joggers.

I’ve done this many a year when the fashion didn’t suit me. Found a really old H and M t shirt the other day that I love. It is quite fun doing this, the problem is it can become a bit addictive, (if that is a problem?), your bound to get some good photos out of the session. Also you might decide to shop for something that matches your favourite fashion items in your wardrobe, like new shoes or jewellery.

It says it colours vicose, but I’d recommend just using it on natural fabrics. These are nigh on impossible to purchase at the moment. You might have something in your wardrobe though. Was pleasantly surprised with this dvd. Did the whole 5 x 10 routine and found I could pick up most of the steps. I would recommend doing the fit quick cooldown at the end if you do the whole DVD and maybe even if you do 1 or a few of the workouts . I’ve got a few dresses in my wardrobe that are size 12 – 14 and I’m now size 10, hoping to get down to size 8. Might be worth waiting, but if you’re at your ideal weight your old dresses might look a bit saggy with too much fabric. If they were made well originally, you could unfasten the seams to reduce the bulk, or take them in a few inches down the side seams. If they are overstiched they possibly can’t be altered. So glad I found this video. Not only because it is fun, but for this outfit idea. I know how to make skirts like these, they are really easy, just need some elastic though. This is a great soloution if petite waist trainer leggings are too small for you.

Used this as a treat for my neck as it had dried out for some reason. Feels really smooth the day after. Did an exfoliation mask and mud mask on my face. This idea might work for you. As I didn’t have a lot of time did a few masks at the same time, but in different areas.

How to use:

Avoiding the eye area, spread evenly over the face and neck. Leave until almost dry then rinse off with warm water. Use 1-2 times each week depending on your skin type.

This product is brilliant if you have sensitive skin.

Easier said than done at the moment. The last pair of pyjama bottoms I purchased had hand threaded elastic glued into the waist band. When I tried to purchase waistband elastic, they didn’t send it out. You would then look and feel more comfortable. Hopefully better production methods will come back soon, but this idea might spark a memory for you and you may have a sewing basket equipped with sewing products.

This is hard at the moment as good fashion isn’t there anymore. If your perfect you won’t need this advice. I’m rubbish at this and usually get it wrong, so really hoping to learn how to do it. Trying to be a different body type with fashion hair and makeup is a bit complicated, you can do it if you want, but why should women feel the pressure to conform to unnatural expectations. The real you probably looks better anyway you are possibly just confused by hype and high pressure sales.

I worked out a smaller person needs less food than a tall person ~ especially that you may be serving a tall person your portion size and they may not have enough to eat or vice versa. I’m not a seamstress, but this is fairly basic to do. I can’t remember how big a seam allowance is, but maybe you do. I don’t suit shirt dresses, so the one I managed to acquire I roughly turned into a blouse. I have to leave the top buttons open as it is too tight and wear a cami under it or an old dress. This trick got me through university without getting into ridiculous credit card debt. The rich kids spent ridiculous amounts of cash on haberdashery etc., This tip is worth doing even if fashion comes back. The buttons at the moment are not only cheap, but sometimes fairly unattractive. If this goes on any longer it is a way of making rubbish fashion look better at no cost. It is also fun to go through your collection. You could re knit an old jumper or use it for crochet and so forth or sew motifs or beads onto a bland top or dress. I actually like taking beads and sequins off dresses so they look more classic. You could re sew them as borders or make expensive looking cushions.

This is useful if you don’t suit really long belts knotted round your waist or hard leather belts.

KEEP GOING AND YOU WILL SUCCEED. It is all part of life and your slimming journey. I have discovered from the slimming Calendar so far it is plateus more than anything we do wrong, why we don’t always reach weightloss targets. Setting a monthly target might work better for you than a weekly target. It worked better for me last month as the days I worked harder helped me get my goal and the results didn’t come instantly. Still need to get rid of my cellulite, but it isn’t as bad as a year ago. Hope you are getting results or deciding to start a weightloss journey. Keep going ~ it does work!!!

I’ve kept a few of these just in case. Not sure what I will do with them, need a sewing machine really. I’m not brilliant at sewing but might manage something. I could mend my leggings with it if I could get a sewing machine. Sewing leggings by hand just makes them worse.

Got new leggings that fit, this year.

This is still a good tip as the ribbon is quite good quality.

SWITCH FROM YOUR NORMAL BREAD TO SLIMCEA. STILL EAT THE FOOD YOU LOVE. WORKED FOR ME, still eating slimming bread use Warburtons Danish at the moment wonder if it is the same loaf rebranded?

Once you reach your target goal eating diet bread, consider posting a before and after photo to social media.

Be brave ~ it isn’t that bad, quite liberating.

The photo also keeps you sane and makes you realise you did it and you are slim!!!!

Make it a goal if you have just found this.

I got this idea from a charity book by the Times in the 70’s about childrens education. I found it to be true, but the curriculum didn’t allow for this in Art education of today. If we make a mess creating, it is often the scrap bit of tissue paper or bit of tan leather thonging against a turquoise bead etc., that inspires a finished piece. Spending a fortune on art supplies doesn’t necessarily make us creative. Try it out with what you have already, you may be surprised but also inspired.

We learned this in needlework at school. The textbook had diagrams of different body types and what fashion suited each body type. A flared skirt is great for pear shape, but makes apple shape look terrible. If you could purchase elastic and a sewing machine it is easy to rectify. If I’m honest I don’t like flared skirts anyway especially long ones.

As well as adding a healthy glow to pale skin, (like mine), You can easily sculpt your face to look slimmer with bronzer. It is quick and easy, also great if you don’t suit a lot of makeup, (like me). Just build it on top of the gym look. Get a big brush and sweep the cheek bronzer on areas you want to look smaller. I find I can use more bronzer than other makeup. Hope you discover this tip or remember it, I had forgotten it till I started using makeup again.

Thought of this idea when I was looking through my old clothes for the Victorian party. I found a lacy cami top from George that is size 12 and really pretty. It is too big now, but too pretty to throw away. You could tighten it with a broach, hold it tight with long necklaces & so forth. I’d wear mine under a little jacket. This photo was the only one I could find free on my digital Photoshop.

Switch from a sedentary job to an active job and this will help you slim down. You could set up your own active cottage industry like aerobics instructor or gardener and so forth. To be honest an inactive cottage industry will help you loose weight also as it is like the hobby idea, you will take your mind off food getting your business to work. Maybe you could make money out of your hobby.

You could make a belt or a fake belt out of an old necklace. If you are good at drawing you could draw a pattern on a plain top that is too big for you then practise sewing beads on the pattern. Use an old bit of stiffer fabric as backing so the beads are easier to sew. If craft shops come back and you enjoyed crafts you could get proper products for designing with. Before you could get backing that dissolved when you had finished.

This is my go to routine for blemish control. I use a lot of other spa products as well, but this definately works for me at turning around blemishes. Been using it purposefully so I could recommend it professionaly. You need to try it yourself really and see if it works for you ~ but I’ve been using it since I was a teenager. Felt like being more adventurous with my clothes choices now I’m learning about fashion, not sure if I suit crop trousers, but like these two winter colours. The wedges aren’t on sale at this shop, but wondering if this is how to get crop trousers to work. Not sure about the elasticated waist, I have opted for my waist size. You will achieve classic style also. If you suit sequins or it is a stage outfit where you have to stand out fair enough. But for a fashion garment sequins all over might be too much. I’ve got this wrong so many times just because I hadn’t thought about it before. Guess it’s just practice and layering technique. Home fashion shoots are a great way to work it out before you wear your outfits to go out.

(I made this mistake recently with a hideous fuscia dress with sequins; it was too big so hid my problem areas I suppose, but looked awful as it didn’t fit; the sequins emphasised the fact it didn’t fit properly.)

I think this idea has been confused somewhere as I was doing my own version of this idea when someone said olive oil is a myth. Since not using olive oil I feel dreadful and my food tastes awful. I think what it is, is only some people need olive oil and this system explains who needs it. I’m going to check this out again and thought I’d put this here to help the current confusion. It needs a bit of studying and you don’t have to do it if it isn’t for you.

This is how I was brought up. Have to say spiritual wellbeing is a personal choice and no one can dictate this upon us. If living in the light helps you get up every day and be a healthy person ~ no dictator can stop you. Start today. You don’t even have to go to church as God is all around us. Your childhood knowledge of religion will suffice and no one knows what you are doing anyway.

Stop following people who live in darkness on social media. Follow light bearing people instead.

Once had a look similar to this that I put together with antique clothes. Not sure what era it was from, but I loved it. As the skirt was fairly short I wore really small heels and it worked really well. Think it looked gorgeous and you could stand up in it all day, then wore it to a shopping centre after work. The small heels went really well with the outfit and the black with pink worked on my apple/athletic build. You can also style this in many other ways. Or use the idea with what you have in your wardrobe.

50’s Party ~ Last Weekend in May

Friday

Hopefully by next year restaurants and nightclubs will be back ~ ones that are friendly and not unsociable. You would think people would want your business. Hope you have a great night out with your mates, loved ones or a romantic night out and so forth before next May actually. Couldn’t find much I would wear for the 50s just flared skirts, which I don’t suit. Hopefully get the shoes and handbags.

THERE IS QUITE A LOT OF FASHION, SO THIS MAY BE BETTER TO AIM FOR NEXT YEAR. IF NOTHING ELSE THE JEWELLERY AND SHOES ARE REALLY GOOD!!! AFTER WATCHING LOVEJOY ON SUNDAY REALISE JEWELLERY IS AN INVESTMENT. SUPPOSE LIKE THE AVON YOU NEED TO KEEP THE BOX AND AUTHENTICATION SO IT GOES UP IN VALUE. POSSIBLY DON’T WEAR IT EVEN.

As there were still rationing and food shortages from WW2, noticed people tended to eat out a lot.

Sunday

Our favourite restaurants closed down during covid. Hopefully you will be able to do this by next year.

Unless something changes we can’t do the 50’s night ~ we get Mcdonalds on a saturday night every week anyway.

We couldn’t do Victorian night either as we couldn’t get potatoes.

Might just carb cycle Mcdonalds again. Wondering if it is worse now than the 50’s ~ seems hard to believe, but they could do Italian at least. I’d live off that in the week if we had cooking facilities and could get food. They could get pink drinks ~ we can’t, would get M and S pink gins.
