PERFUME JUNKY/60’s perfume/chamade/guerlain

The actual Chamade advert in Blue Marigold

I love these sort of adverts for perfume, I’m quite creative so it appeals to my imaginative side.

Really hoping to try this perfume, been trying to get it since perfume junky started and I discovered The Blue Marigold perfume actually exists and is Chamade by Guerlain.

I think Blue Marigold may also be wearing Guerlain makeup.

Think I had that lipstick shade.

This is one of my favourite Tales of The Unexpeded episodes.

Blue Marigold

It has a 60’s feel so guess it is set in the 60’s.

Chamade was launched in 1969. The nose behind this fragrance is Jean-Paul Guerlain. Top notes are Hiacynth, Aldehydes, Rose, Jasmine and Bergamot; middle notes are Galbanum, Rose, Lilac, Jasmine, Lily-of-the-Valley and Cloves; base notes are Tolu Balsam, Benzoin, Peru Balsam, Amber, Vetiver, Vanilla and Sandalwood.

This is almost the same bottle and label colour as Champs-Élysées.

This is the same bottle design as Blue Marigold is modelling.

I’d rather get one like this as it is perfume as oppose to eau de toilette.

Conclusion

Now all the bottle designs are the same, I realise where I got my love of collecting glass bottles.

When I was little my Uncle built his house from old salvage.

One of his projects led to some old glass bottles buried underground.

My Auntie let me have some and I thought they were brilliant, one was actually blue with poison written on, not sure which era it was from.

Then as a teenager at art college I started collecting empty perfume bottles to put your own perfumes in or use as ornaments.

Starting to realise why a lot of experienced perfume collectors are unhappy with current perfumes.

I prefer the perfume bottle Blue Marigold is advertising.

Hopefully when the world finally recovers from covid the perfume manufacturers will bring back the glamorous bottle designs and different ones for each perfume.

Thinking about it I love the bottle design as much as the perfume and also the luxury packaging.

I’m grateful for anything at the moment.

It isn’t the way to be though really is it?

Perfume is one luxury all women can afford, so hopefully it will go back to having the standard of effort put into it that it had in the 60’s.

I presume I will love this perfume because of Blue Marigold and Guerlain is one of my favourite perfume brands.

Mind you moaning about perfume seems a bit fickle at the moment, just found some ‘real’ news last night about how bad it actually is out there.

But then again if people were allowed to work again, some of them could get jobs making perfume and perfume bottles or jobs selling perfume in department stores.

Hope you enjoyed this blog and the tales of the unexpected episode.

Equally I hope you get this perfume if you want to purchase it.

Enjoy your Saturday
