Revisting a Highway Man Blog/antiquing

This is still here ~ Might bid for it.

Almandine garnets set in gilt metal are fashioned into a striking choker with drop, which can be removed. The choker is tied on with a ribbon. Much of the jewelry of this period was set with pastes. These pieces are unusual in that gemstones were used. Though called “Queen Anne”, jewelry of this type was actually made some 30 odd years after her reign. Please note the earrings are not included.

Conclusion

Love this era.

Really enjoyed this shop.

Found the villiage is changing, but the council is worried about it and thinking in through.

‘Supplementary Planning Guidance’, a way of trying to ‘establish sensible criteria and encourage good design’. It is a case of planning for inevitable change while ensuring that what is passed on to future generations is worthy of transmission. As the American politician, Adlai Stevenson said, ‘We can chart our future clearly and wisely only when we know the path which has led to the present’

Once had a strange exprience on this path in said village, I thought I saw a lady dressed in old fashioned clothes, either Edwardian or Victorian.

I really liked the atmosphere it evoked and she felt really happy and mellow.

Then she kind of faded away in a type of light swirl.

You have to wonder if it was my imagination or if I saw some kind of phenomena.

I always remembered her when I walked down this path, beautiful experience.

Really glad the villiage is being looked after.

Hope all little English villiages are being equally looked after and loved.

I’m English and I love my homeland.

Hope this inspired your imagination.

Maybe you might find an era you love on 1st Dibs.

I don’t really purchase antiques but found something I like with Sunday Shop. At art collage I drew jewellery all the time. Applied for a jewellery making course but got accepted on a wallpaper design course, then threw off it as I designed jewellery instead of basic geometric tile designs like the boring freaky tutor. Then got moved to textile design so I could finish my degree and recently started making jewellery from tutorials lol!!!

I think something is starting to gel here maybe.

Have to say I tried an evening class in jewellery making, got to the finished ring stage and found I didn’t like soldering.

Love drawing jewellery through and love shopping for antique jewellery.

Antique jewellery has an edge that modern jewellery just doesn’t have, the same goes for Architecture.

You keep hoping, who knows maybe there will be a design renaissance ~ about time, but then you would have to knock old buildings and modern rubbish buildings down.

Quite a dilema for councils.

Also you need to house and educate poor people to cut down on crime and not have to go back to workhouses and so forth.

Had a good think writing this, cleared my mind from random drivel advertising.

Enjoy your Sunday

Saphire

n.b.

Think the residents of the village took their complaints further to a village meeting with the council and ‘the forge’ is protected now.

Good for the forge and the other 22 buildings!!!

I think the Bardot cottage would be a good way to go with it.
