I don’t like this dress and wouldn’t of bought it in the shop, but have the feeling you aren’t expected to return things even if you have paid for them yourself.
Looking at this picture it is actually too long for the model so explains why it was miles too long on me.
It is made so weirdly it wasn’t just a straight forward alteration.
I’ve never seen a dress like it?
Where the split is, it sort of goes up at a weird angle.
As I haven’t an iron, I pinned up the hem.
Then I realised I’m not sure who this dress suits or how long it is supposed to be.
I’m sure there is someone on a platform somewhere that it fits but I don’t know who so I couldn’t alter it properly.
Think she is one of the ISKA models, but not sure?
It looks too long on her as well?
As it was affordable on sale and made in China and I might be expected to wear it, I made the decision to cut the length down.
Was£39
Now£20
Save£19
When I turned it up the hem wasn’t symmetrical, so you couldn’t hem it properly due to the weird split?
I thought about taking the gathering off, but then the split went too high.
At the end of the day it doesn’t fit me.
I eventually managed to leave it as a longish dress and have managed to tack up a sort of hem.
If the length is too short, I’m not sure what it is supposed to look like, but at least I can wear it now.
I could sew it properly when I get a sewing machine, but not how I would of done it.
The straps are faulty also as they are not symetrical, so tacked them up.
My bust isn’t like the models ~ (wonder if she has a boob job?), so tacked up the top of it as well.
Went back to the hem and bravely decided to cut it even though I hadn’t a cutting table, ironing board or tailors chalk.
Hemmed it up again and this time the hem lay symetrical?
This doesn’t make sense but possibly works better?
I ended up with a scarf that matches the dress.
The dress still doesn’t suit me but worried if I hem it more might ruin it.
Conclusion
I’m so desperate to get clothes, that altering the ones I do get seems the only way forward.
If I’ve insulted ISKA, by altering it wrong I didn’t mean to but hope I’ve explained my problems.

This is a best seller ~ got this one, Laurel caught it in the taxi as I was tableuing Jean Harlow in Double Whoopee. It is in the sidebar.
Model is 5ft 9″ wears UK 8
This is why it is too long on me I’m 5ft4.
Not sure why asda has started selling clothes for 5ft9?
If you are American reading this Asda is like Wallmart.
It is really affordable, but it used to be the one that fitted my height, Zara was for tall women, I used to fit Tesco as well but not Sainsburys.
This dress is almost too nice for George, but sort of useless as it doesn’t fit me.
It is more like a shop called Catwalk, that used this sort of fabric, they were sort of run up quickly in a factory like these but tight, low cut and skimpy, you could get 3 of those dresses out of the amount of fabric in this dress, the price up doesn’t make sense maybe?
I could alter it in too minutes if I had some equipment and space, but sadly this is lacking here.

This is too long on her at 5ft 9?, the average british woman is 5ft4.
I think I’m supposed to wear this dress, but not sure?
Not sure I have any fuscia thread so will have to edit the white tacking thread.
If I have to wear it, guess it will be on instagram.
Was something to do I suppose, better than being bored.
Hope it offers inspiration
