As the tutorial has finished thought I would write up this manicure discovery.
It is probably nothing new, but I didn’t know about it and thought I would share for anyone interested and for future reference.
Basically I discovered that if you use white nailvarnish like eyeshadow or lipstick primer it works.
Well it does with pearl shades and sheer type shades.
As I’ve started photographing my manicures I’ve discovered it is quite hard to get the colour to show up, especially on a mobile phone.
Of late I have had a few free white nailvarnishes which I presume are for french tips.
Just as an experiment I applied base coat, a whole nail of white then an old pearl white nailvarnish from before covid.
My photo isn’t brilliant as it is just me playing around for fun, but the sheer colour did show up well.

Sheer, pearl type nailvarnishes are my favourite, but I find they don’t come up well on photographs.
Really pleased with this idea, it only took 2 coats also and dried really quickly.
Need to source a new pearl nailvarnish, like white, pink and beige. Avon used to have a vast selection of sheers and shimmers that was how I got into them.
Noticed a few when I was researching this.
Just received the Barry M mega box from Argos so feel like building up my collection again.
Really pleased with this.
The two free White nailvarnishes from Boots offers
Essie
Nail Polish 1 Blanc Creamy Bright White Colour, Original High Shine and High Coverage Nail Polish 13.5ml

Got this one free this week
Just noticed the price
Really good offer and I’m completely hooked on white nailvarnish now so will use both and purchase more

Hand Makeup
To make your hands look better on photographs the most obvious trick is fake tan, but as there seems to be issues here at the moment, another idea is to use foundation in colours that are wrong for your skin tone, (another current malfunction in the beauty industry for some reason), I’ve got a few peach and warm colours that are useless on fair skin, but work on my hands. A Blogger said someone muddled up all the colours ~ not a good idea, I find with TV scheduling you are better just following the program as it has been designed like that because it works.
Also I have some shiny makeup that goes awful on my face, but it worked on my hands.
I’m possibly better sticking with matte.
My nose is the only oily area, but I seem to suit matt better.
Conclusion
If these tips are as old as the hills I’m sorry, but they are new to me.
I thought it might trigger off other ideas and how not to waste product you have spent a lot on but can’t use.
Makeup products on hands aren’t like fake tan so wash them off after your manicure photos.
Enjoy your Saturday
