My dream is to go to Venice Before it sinks.
Yes, Venice is sinking, but at a rate that’s similar to New York City. The city’s foundations are built on piles of timber driven into the mud beneath the lagoon, and over time the mud shifts and compacts, causing the city to sink. Venice has been sinking for centuries, but the rate of sinking increased in the past due to human activities like pumping groundwater from the aquifer. The local government stopped these practices in the 1970s, and Venice is now sinking at a more normal rate of about one to two millimeters per year. (1)
We had a Canaletto repro painting in our living room when we were little, so always wanted to go there.

I always thought there was a poodle like my grans in fact I wondered if it was someone half human and half poodle. Amazing what memories come back when you look into the past.
Not sure what you would wear to Venice.
As it is Italy I think people dress up quite smart.
As a tourist you may look out of place.
I think you may go there looking British and come home dressed in designer Italian clothes.
