Had a few new products to try out and ordered some for a future Slimming Calendar project.
After the weird COVID brush split some of my hair into a rubbish hairstyle, have been growing out the lengths for a year.
Discovered that the saying, she looks like the ~’wild woman of Borneo’, is actually racist and extremely bitchy.
So won’t use that saying, but that saying sums up I look like I’ve been sleeping rough in a jungle or desert and my hair was a bit unruly.
In case other women in my situation are trying this till the world goes back to normal, thought I’d share how I’m coping.
First, make sure you have proper hairdressing scissors.

Then I just started trimming off the wispy ends.
I don’t know what I’m doing, but I know you should trim wispy ends.
Then I’ve started cutting, ‘bangs’ I think they are called.
These make lengths just around chin level and hide what bitchy women call chins.
Ho Ho!!!
My mum used to hold her chin to make fun of mine.
That didn’t used to be called bitchy, where I come from is a bit hard. She used to Thank god I hadn’t inherited her nose, although my nose is still fairly big, which I discovered in counseling. We can’t do social media around these parts as we are classed as sarcastic when we speak globally. We also upset people really easily with our hardness.
I’ve tried really hard to be more global since I realised I offend particularly Chinese people by just being myself.
I was horrified when I discovered this as I find racism abhorrent.
Self-discovery is a hard pill to swallow, but as long as we aren’t in denial, apologise, and learn to adapt as the world changes, we can survive and become better people from it.
The bangs aren’t level, I will probably need to go to a hairdresser, if I want a decent hairstyle, so hopefully, proper ones will come back soon.
The bangs are a lot smoother now and you can run your fingers through them rather than getting tangled up in dry ends and wispy ends.
Then I just kept trimming the lengths till I got it to the same length at least so it looked the same level, like when you go to a hairdresser.
It isn’t in a hairstyle, so I style it to one side still.
It looks a lot thicker at least and has a kind of layered look.
I used to cut layers myself whilst watching TV.
You just twist a section of hair and all your split ends stick out and you can trim them off.
It creates layers though, but does work.

This is the layered look I did myself.
If I did it now would trim off the wispy bits at the bottom.
Have got sort of bangs under my chin.
Thinking about it could probably do this hairstyle myself again.
It has more volume at the top and is layered at the ends to suit my face shape better than thick voluminous lengths.
I look like a hippy with long hair all the same length.
Suppose we just have to try our best, like doing girls’ world hairstyles or giving Barbie a haircut. Used to like doing that. Our dolls had their own beauty salon and hairdresser.
Hair Supplements

After having my hair bleached once, I had terrible damage to my hair. Have been trying to grow it back since.
Someone recommended these, so am in my second month of trying them out.
So far have noticed shorter lengths and also wiry hairs here and there, which I trimmed the ends of, whether this is new hair growth or just the split bits from the COVID brush growing out, I can’t honestly be sure.
It does feel a lot thicker on top though, have to say.
By trimming the ends a lot, I feel it is easier to now chart if there is new hair growth. The product description advises you to keep taking these till you are happy with the results.
As I’m still not sure, will follow these instructions till I can be sure.

Will let you know how I do.
Products that work, get moved into star products.
This one takes time obviously as the damaged hair took a year to grow out.
I’m trying to start with baby hair, so two months in now.
With this said, I have a lot of shorter lengths that are irritating, like when you grow a fringe out, so hopefully this means they are working.
I pin these back with the hair clips I got.
When you are doing a project like this probably doesn’t matter too much that my hair isn’t in a style.
I’m mainly clipping it off my face with these.

Also these
You can get larger and medium ones that I really like, but work better on thicker hair.
Will put the link to the whole selection for you if you have been struggling to get hairslides, they are essential for exercising also I find.
The sectioning clips are great for when you are styling your hair yourself as you can clip back the rest to focus on one section, then clip back the finished sections.
Also useful if you are curling your hair and so forth.
This one is gorgeous if you have thick hair, they just slide out of my hair as it is fine, another problem I had pointed out to me all the time.
Thank god for global politeness.

Anyway, have a browse you might find some nice hairclips
Castor Oil
Sent for some hair masks last night as the ends of my hair are really dry.
The other day I received some castor oil as I noticed it trending on Pinterest.
I’ve just started slowly with this as it seems sticky and not something you would rub into dry hair.
Will persevere with it and let you know how I do.
Think I need to work out a technique.
Conclusion
When people come across as bitchy or body shame your chin and so forth, sometimes we have to accept it is ignorance, inbred conditioning, and their inability to adapt to new global humanity progression. We also have to let them have a period of breathing space to adapt.
Ultimately we have to accept that some people are almost cemented in inbred conditioning and will never change. Unless they wake up to themselves and accept self-awareness, there is sadly nothing you can do about these unsocial types.
Saw this so many times whilst supply teaching as I went around quite a large area and many different schools.
It does seem to be just a small pocket area though that can be controlled by skilled professionals; if they were allowed to go back to work or get their old jobs back with the appropriate pay they expect for skilled work.
Growing hair out takes time, so prettying it up with pretty hairslides can make the experience less hairy, so to speak.
If you are considering supplements, but not sure, will let you know how I do.
If your hair is in great condition, but you haven’t been able to get hairslides, you should be able to get them now, if you haven’t already.
Quite enjoying Saphires hairdressing salon, always loved playing with my dolls, and so is my second childhood space I guess.
Now products are starting to come back into stock will share what I try.
Hope your hair has grown back from the weird brush and some of this installment is of interest to you. Quite nice to see what women find when we are shopping as you can discover things you didn’t find on your shop that they did.
Till next time, enjoy your home hair salons,
Saphire
