Designer Inspired
The first one I found was a Moshino-inspired T-shirt at Peacocks.
Peacocks designers were probably at the Moschino fashion show looking for inspiration and decided to go with this idea. They then took it back to their design studio and put their own twist and style on the original idea.
I love this T-shirt so much, I wore it as pajamas a few times, then decided to collect it.
It isn’t an exact copy as that breaks copywriting rules.
Also, it would annoy people paying full price for the fashion piece.
Designers are allowed to be inspired by each other, which can go both ways such as high-end designers being inspired by street fashion.
Price Comparisons
I only discovered this recently. When you find the inspired pieces you can then compare prices.
Maybe it is worth following both designers and designer-inspired as I’ve heard some pro fashion purchasers saying they sometimes even prefer the inspired piece.
Quite like the peacocks-inspired piece being on grey fabric actually.
Vaguely getting into this without realising
When life was good I used to buy Vogue, Elle, and Elle decoration amongst many other magazines.
But I used to specifically browse what was in fashion each season in Vogue and Elle, then go down to the high street or local shopping center/mall and see what the shops were doing. Shops always followed trends and classic styles inspired by the fashion shows and catwalks.
I particularly liked looking at what pop stars and famous people were modeling as some of them were my height, so I could work out what it would look like on me.
To be honest I got into this whilst teaching.
On my final teaching placement in Bromley, I worked under a photographer who did fashion projects with the children. They loved it and I did too. Was very similar to what I’m doing now on Pinterest.
Thought I’d blog about this as some teenagers were interested in this subject when I did the Moschino pin originally.

This is the latest one I have found. They aren’t exact but you can see the similarity. I actually prefer the blue ones to the black ones. The white ones are really similar. The best ones are probably the pink Jimmy Choo ones.
It is worth knowing about this.
Suppose it is a bit nerdy.
I love it!!!
Happy to share this with you.
Conclusion
Designer-inspired does happen and it is real.
If you are a fashion nerd or junky it is worth knowing about this, inspired pieces can sometimes be better even though they cost less, but they don’t have the label.
It also extends your shopping time out further like perfume junky.
Hopefully, magazines are coming back to normal again, so you can just shop for fashion in them for hours on end and not have to read about activists or whatever? have to say I’m not against activists as this is a free country and we are allowed to peaceful protests. But I’m not into doing it myself.
I am a fashion nerd though and activism in fashion magazines has eaten into my nerd time?
Why someone put socialist worker newspaper or whatever into Vogue I don’t get?
Hopefully, all the fashion journalists will get their jobs back and we nerds can just go off onto our fashion clouds and nerd out again.
Hope you enjoyed this insight and it inspires your blogs and shopping if you didn’t get what I was saying.
