Have to confess to being a massive fan of Astrid.
Would have copied this look in the 60s, think it could work today without it looking like fancy dress. If you do like fancy dress you could copy this exactly.

Can’t make this dress out if I’m honest, but as I can’t work out what Astrid is wearing will interpret it as a dress, found the haberdasher I used to shop from this morning, so I could alter this dress to be more 60’s.
Hopefully, it will just fit. I wouldn’t wear a sixties wig, but would wear just a straight one without a fringe.

Quite surprised I found this. It is op art from the 60’s, but no one would guess unless they had been studying 60’s fashion.

I wouldn’t wear this if I’m honest it is a bit over the top for me but maybe a great lead for you if you love fashion history.
Love how the dress from Reiss takes this mad idea and has turned it into a garment someone like me would wear.
This is a great example of what I’m aiming for with fashion calendar.
Wonder if Astrid tended to opt for the stylish options in the 60’s?

Really like this dress, but would happily redesign it to be more like the one Astrid is wearing. I personally don’t suit long dresses. I’d wear it and not suit it, but would love to do this project.
The Reiss dress is quite stunning. Might keep it like this and possibly make all of the Astrid dress myself. Hope this inspires you to be creative too, first dress I’ve seen for ages that makes me feel like being creative.
You could attach the collar to the Martin dress, or work it out from this dress how to do it.

This is from the 70’s, but wonder if it was inspired by the 60’s?

This dress is from the 60’s, (Rosemary’s Baby), but fairly similar. They all look like you could make them yourself if you have limited dressmaking skills like me. Maybe by next year, I may have fathomed it out.
Conclusion
Hope you enjoy Astrid Gilberto in concert tonight at the 60’s party. Quite pleased with these fashion takes on the 60’s. I couldn’t do it exactly as it is not the 60’s.
Next year you may have new makeup and a camera so you may like to try this look out. If you like this idea and are ready this year you could maybe use clothes and makeup in your wardrobe. If not you could start planning it for next year.
