Perfume junky/sober contribution

Decided to contribute my ideas to the sober club as I am writing end-of-month parties into the slimming calendar.

Have to be honest and admit to liking alcohol, but I have had periods in my life when I went for nights out sober.

In my experience a lot of people drink alcohol but don’t get drunk, so you can have a good night out still and drink water that makes you glow as the more you drink is actually really good for you. We used to get free tap water and dance all night so ended up really fit.

Ideas on how to get off Alcohol for whatever reason

Don’t go cold turkey, start reducing your intake by one drink per week.

This is really doable. It works with coffee, food whatever.

Convert like for like

I switched my drink money to perfume as they both have designer bottles.

Decided to put perfume junky into dry party ideas.

We do one night a month drinking, so will buy from perfume junky the other night.

Some of the perfume is collectible like wine so quite like it is an investment also.

Savings nerd

One time I went sober discovered I had ridiculous amounts of loose change that I used to spend on alcohol.

This can get addictive.

You can get bags from the bank for different sums of loose change.

Have a jar or money box to stash all your loose drinks money change then when it gets full organise it into the appropriate bag.

This can then be transferred to a post office account

Sainsbury’s have a change converter machine. This was invaluable to us when we were setting up our business and living off £5 for our weekends. We would always have dinner and a bottle of wine.

Maybe don’t use the coin converter actually, just queue up instead.

Perfume Junky

My first perfume was Kelly Kaleche by Hermes.

As Hermes is in supersizers do the 80’s This is the first Perfume Junky subject.

The First perfume I bought for my first Dry ~January

forgot I’d kept this.

Bought this from House of Fraser once so know I love it.

Then from watching Bargain hunt once with David Dickinson once, he suggested purchasing a perfume cabinet, which I decided to do one day.

This led to this shabby chic cabinet.

Think I’m still getting this and the perfume I purchased.

If you like antiques you can get into that on ebay and etsy.

Just type in your preference and you can spend hours on it, which takes your mind off drinking.

Hope these ideas inspire you.

If you like perfume Junky will do it once a month at the end of month party.

Will also be having a few tipples, except for dry January.

But to be honest we haven’t been drinking the rest of the month so we are dry most of the time.

You might find slimming calendar and fashion calender help take your mind off drinking.

Get fit and fashionable instead of drinking. Fitness and shopping can be highly addictive. Just hope fashion in regulated sizes come back soon.

Conclusion

Hope some of these ideas help.

Will be here doing my calendars and parties for you, so I’m another person supporting you.

Online parties are quite fun anyway.

My mum says if you can’t enjoy yourself anywhere, you can’t enjoy yourself.

Have to say she is right.

She doesn’t drink much and doesn’t believe in heavy drinking, a lot of people don’t. It was my Aunty and Uncle who got me into alcohol.

Were alright now though!!!

The party will be published on Friday.
