Not sure what is happening with Christmas 2023, so thought I would add parties to Christmas TV. Wasn’t going to, but it looks like Christmas might be cancelled again.
A nostalgic Christmas 2023
I put this together to fall back on in case Christmas is canceled again.
It is Christmas Eve next Sunday, so you can collect all your food and drink in the next few days in time for Christmas.
If you opt for the 70’s Christmas it is easier to get hold of things if food hasn’t come back yet. Have to say it is quite fun and will fit with the theme of this year’s A Nostalgic Christmas on Saphire Pinterest TV.
We will just be doing chicken or turkey, seasonal vegetables (including sprouts), potatoes,
Paxo stuffing
Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire puddings
and Bisto gravy
Our oven is burnt out, but it might just manage Christmas dinner.
We will also get the co-op trifle
and will make up some jellies with squirty low-fat cream.
We prefer Hartleys as they solidify better as they aren’t vegan.

How to not gain weight eating pizza/buffet food
During Covid Christmas, we bought a Domino’s pepparami pizza. People said it was alright just for Christmas as a one-off. In America, people share a pizza with a whole family and serve it with salad. British people were taught to eat a whole pizza to themselves, hence the myth about pizza making people overweight. If we get one I’d have one slice with salad, then let the rest go cold and wrap in foil. It can then be served with the 70’s buffet if you struggle to get food at the moment, particularly sausages. (love cocktail sausage on sticks!!!).

During COVID, we managed to get a few of these 70’s drinks. We got

Mateus wine
and baby cham for New years Eve
(has hardly any calories)
Last Christmas I did a drinks cabinet project. If you haven’t got one and can’t purchase any furniture because of post covid design. I just cleared away some space and stored the bottles on a tray. It is funnily enough on top of our old drinks cabinet, just a cupboard with a glass door from Ikea pre covid. It has a kitsch tiki design, which I thought worked well in a small space.

If you start collecting it now, won’t be as stressful as leaving it to the last minute.
This may come in useful for you. If you have lost some weight now covid is going away and are eating less, you might need to take this into account when drinking alcohol.
Remember not to drink drive if you are over the limit. Probably not a problem this year if Christmas is cancelled and no one wants to go out in the ‘weird’ look of 2023?

Christmas Alone or a Quiet Christmas
If you feel pressurised by the hype of Christmas or people unaware of how you feel, remember it is literally only one day.
Hopefully, my ideas will help you build a little sanctuary and you can just snuggle up with some good food, drink, and entertainment on A Nostalgic Christmas 2023.
Then push back the chairs and have a top of the pops disco and take in a few concerts. Put some old high heels on to dance in, makes you feel feminine again, at least you won’t have to fight off the men. Will be like Christmas and New Year at the gay village in Manchester. That used to be our girlie sanctuary when we wanted a girls night out lol!!!
The famous Foo Foo Lamarr – who was the founder of the gay village – bringing light to a dreary grey miserable Northern satanic Mill Town. Manchester is a really good City now.

Velvet
Treat yourself to a weekend at the gay village, my favorite bar is now a boutique hotel. If you live near maybe it is worth popping down over Christmas and check out if anything is happening there.
I used to get a Brandy Alexander cocktail at this bar.

Christmas Sunday day out
What is better than walking off the booze and food on a Christmas Sunday day out. Actually, sunday is Christmas Eve this year, might be better to go for a walk on Boxing Day depending on the weather. Christmas walks are surprisingly busy so you never have to feel alone during Christmas.

That never happens anymore since black Christmas? Anything good has usually been sold by Boxing Day, I would prefer it to come back if it was up to me.
Also with covid fashion, there probably won’t be anything I want anyway.

Christmas parties
Got a few parties together for you, so after you have watched your Christmas films and nostalgic TV shows eating your Christmas fayre, you can get up and have a dance to nostalgic top of the pops parties and stay up to the break of daylight with nostalgic folk music and James Last, just add your favourite tipple from the drinks cabinet. If you choose to stay up all night, that will get you through to the next party. Great way to get rid of the post-COVID Christmas blues.

You will discover it in Yield to the Night with Diana Dors airing on a nostalgic Christmas TV. Hope it becomes one of your repeat orders, been trying to purchase it during COVID-restricted sales strategies? Looking forward to receiving it one of these years. I purchased this film as I couldn’t find a free version. It is Diana Dors’s favorite film. I highly recommend it, will review it with the surprise gift after I have watched it again.
We got a poinsettia last year, check out your local supermarkets for Christmas plants or try a garden centre.

Consider going to Teignmouth in Summer!! if you are like me I have never been to most places in my own country, but would like to visit them.
The Ship Inn is a great first port of call if you have never been to Teignmouth, it is obviously popular, so must be good. You can chat to the locals about where to go in Teignmouth, they will be more fun than the dry council and podcasts?

Join my experience, hopefully, something will shift the Covid weight, one week off at Christmas doesn’t affect your weight, as long as you get straight back on with it in the new year.

Bit disappointing to say the least, I suppose rather than moaning about it, you can still have some fun.
