do you dread red? think again it suits all the seasons. Purchasing red lipstick – getting on trend

Have noticed makeup trends have changed quite a lot recently. Rouge coloured lipstick is really in. Was a bit reluctant to go from my old natural shade to red. Red is a shade for winter colours so yesterday I gave it a go.

Every season can have a shade of red, it is just choosing the right red. This chart isn’t accurate as it is on the internet and purchasing on the internet isn’t really accurate either, so I just guessed and chose what I liked.

The one in my makeup bag was a lip and cheek colour by thebodyshop.com I really recommend this as it was easy to apply. Red is harder to apply than neutral colours, so this is an easy product to use.

Sheer Touch Lip & Cheek Tint

I repurchased the shade bloom, but not sure if this is winter? really liked it anyway. It looked really bold when I got in, but I suppose it is a matter of getting used to it. This picture doesn’t look like the old product at all, so it took me a while to work it out. The colour is really different.

How to use

  1. For a subtle flush, swipe the tint onto your lips and cheeks, gently using our doe foot applicator.
  2. Blend into your skin using a buffing brush, or nature’s best makeup tool: your fingers. Just remember to wash your hands after.
  3. Prefer a little drama? This tint is easily buildable for more coverage and colour. Just re-apply when you desire, to create intensity.

Not sure if the one I have has gone off, so repurchased the same shade. The packaging has changed so will be interesting to compare.

Body shop is a high end company if you have never heard of it. It has always been a kind of green issue shop. My friend always used to shop there, but I could never afford it. Became a customer before covid, finding it hard to find my old products as the packaging has changed so much. Had a really good browse last night and pinned a few things to make it easier for people who may be too busy to browse for hours.

Will blog the other products once I have tried them.

L’Oreal Paris le skinny brow

£7.99

Hopefully this means slim eyebrows are coming back into fashion. To be fair to me I tried a thick eyebrow the other day and I had to wipe it off as I looked stupid. It even looked daft with thick corners.

I’m just going to do Brooke Shield’s eyebrow look in reverse.

Hopefully this shows trends are changing towards skinny eyebrows. This pencil is all you need to do a skinny eyebrow look.

Takes 2 minutes to draw on and you have more money to spend on lipstick and eyeshadow.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Eyeshadow Palette

£17.00

Trying this as the palette I got recently is shiny and I had to wipe that off as well. Really like urban decay makeup. These shades are matte. I prefer matte makeup to shiny. like a bit of glitter, but for some reason I don’t like shine.

This will be a good base to add brighter colours to, looking forward to experimenting. In fact I could add shiny shades on top of this base maybe?

Will let you know how I get on. Trying some more products out so will review when I have tried them.

Tools I can’t find anymore

Just a shout out.

Really would like to purchase heated eyelash curlers and a mascara comb. Couldn’t find any last night.

I preferred these to false eyelashes, felt I got a better result.

Like bushy eyebrows, don’t really suit false eyelashes either.

Maybe there is a false lash trick I haven’t learn’t yet, but possibly not.

The mascara comb, combs out clogged mascara and gives length to natural eyelashes.

Am in the market to purchase both!!!

Hope this inspires you.
